Fort San José de Bocachica. It was a defensive military construction built in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, with the aim of defending this city from the continuous attacks of the English and the French during the eighteenth century. The building was built as part of an extensive defensive system. The engineer in charge of building the fort was the engineer Juan de Herrera y Sotomayor, who built it between 1714 and 1725 as a complement to the Castillo de San Luis de Bocachica.
